I'm Afraid of Government Trained Domestic Terrorists
This story reminds me of when I was at my high school's football game with fellow students in the late 1960s. We didn't care about the game. It was just an opportunity for us to socialize. We were laying down on the grass when the Anthem played and some Marine came up to us and told us to stand up to respect the Anthem. (Or maybe it was the Pledge of Allegiance). I felt I had the right to be detached and to conduct myself according to my anti-imperialist anti-war point of view. The Marine was so intimidating that I stood up anyway. I couldn't have imagined expressing my Constitutional rights to him. I was truly frightened by this soldier's fanaticism.
