The Giant Peach
In his last dream on March 12, 2010, entitled Two Cars, Ernie was shown a very significant event that we believe will shortly come to pass—if God allows it to happen. It describes the destruction of a giant peach.
"My dream changes again and I instantly find myself outdoors and observing from above at an angle. I see several men remove their black robes and place them in a large washing machine. They add several gallons of laundry detergent and several gallons of bleach. After what seems a few minutes they remove the robes and discuss that they are not white enough. They decide to wash them again, adding several packages of white dye. After a few minutes they remove them and discuss that they still are not white enough. They decide to spray them all white with a cloth spray paint. Then they apply a large golden seven to the front of each robe and put them on as well as blue and silver sashes around their neck.
"Next the men walk over and face a giant peach, then turn toward many people who bow and kneel in front of them. Many repeatedly chant, 'Teach us, oh enlightened ones, for we listen and you will tell us what we are to do.' I now rise further into the air and see the men again face the giant peach. Turning to the right, I see a large rock come down and smash the giant peach. The rock disappears and I see what looks like many small pieces of burning coal fall from the air and burn up the area where the peach was. The peach as well as all the men and those that kneeled are gone.
"The Herald, who has been holding my hand the whole time, calls me by my heavenly name and says that what I just witnessed could happen, but we must understand that He who sits on the throne and knows all to no end knows what would be best, and He might not allow this to occur." 36. Two Cars, Mar. 12, 2010.
Before we identify the peach, we need to consider some of the methods God has used in the past to confirm His prophets.
Elijah
- In the days of king Ahab, when Israel had fallen into great apostasy, God sent Elijah the prophet to proclaim that there would be no rain for 3 1/2 years. During that period of time, Elijah was rejected and accused of bringing the judgments of God upon them.
- After the 3 1/2 years, God finally confirmed to all that Elijah was His prophet with the events that took place on Mount Carmel. There, the people of God were given the choice to serve God or Baal. The people declared "The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God." 1 Kings 18:39. The prophets of Baal were then killed and God's church was cleansed.
“Tidings of Elijah’s denunciation of the sins of Israel, and of his prophecy of swift-coming punishment, quickly spread throughout the land. The fears of some were aroused, but in general the heavenly message was received with scorn and ridicule.” Prophets and Kings, p.123.1
“The prophet’s words went into immediate effect. Those who were at first inclined to scoff at the thought of calamity, soon had occasion for serious reflection; for after a few months the earth, unrefreshed by dew or rain, became dry, and vegetation withered. As time passed, streams that had never been known to fail began to decrease, and brooks began to dry up. Yet the people were urged by their leaders to have confidence in the power of Baal and to set aside as idle words the prophecy of Elijah. The priests still insisted that it was through the power of Baal that the showers of rain fell. Fear not the God of Elijah, nor tremble at His word, they urged, it is Baal that brings forth the harvest in its season and provides for man and beast.” Prophets and Kings, p. 123.2
“The second year of famine passed, and still the pitiless heavens gave no sign of rain. Drought and famine continued their devastation throughout the kingdom. Fathers and mothers, powerless to relieve the sufferings of their children, were forced to see them die. Yet still apostate Israel refused to humble their hearts before God and continued to murmur against the man by whose word these terrible judgments had been brought upon them. They seemed unable to discern in their suffering and distress a call to repentance, a divine interposition to save them from taking the fatal step beyond the boundary of Heaven’s forgiveness.” Prophets and Kings, p. 127.1
“God had sent messengers to Israel, with appeals to return to their allegiance. Had they heeded these appeals, had they turned from Baal to the living God, Elijah’s message of judgment would never have been given. But the warnings that might have been a savor of life unto life had proved to them a savor of death unto death. Their pride had been wounded, their anger had been aroused against the messengers, and now they regarded with intense hatred the prophet Elijah. If only he should fall into their hands, gladly they would deliver him to Jezebel--as if by silencing his voice they could stay the fulfillment of his words! In the face of calamity they continued to stand firm in their idolatry. Thus they were adding to the guilt that had brought the judgments of Heaven upon the land.” Prophets and Kings, p. 127.4
Early Church
- When Jesus was baptized, He began His ministry by declaring, "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17. For 3 1/2 years He declared the good news of the gospel. During this time most of the leaders of God's church rejected Him and taught the people that He was from Beelzebub. When Jesus was crucified at the end of the 3 1/2 years, it appeared that what the Pharisees were teaching was correct, especially when Jesus cried out "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46.
- The ministry of Jesus and the faith of the disciples was confirmed however when Jesus rose from the dead, and particularly when they received the gift of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
The ministry of Ernie
It is interesting that Ernie's ministry fully began on December 10, 2006 when he received the dream A View of Heaven. In that dream he received his commission from God to tell His people that He is coming sooner than we expect. If we project 3 1/2 years after Ernie’s commission into the future, we arrive at June 2010. Is there anything special happening at this time?
As a matter of fact there is. The 59th General Conference Session begins on June 23, 2010 and it will take place in Atlanta. Does this have any connection with the dream Ernie was given about the giant peach? Amazingly it does.
You will notice in the picture above that three references are made to a peach. One is a picture of a peach and the other two are clearly spelled out for everyone to see.
It is also interesting to note what Ernie experienced on June 22, 2007. “This was not actually a dream. It was almost 5:00 AM. I woke up because I thought I heard my wife say something but she had not. She said she was in the middle of a common dream. I told her that I heard a voice say ‘AS JUNE IS A SHORT MONTH, SO IS TIME. PREPARE FOR THE WRATH OF GOD.’ ”
The meaning of the peach dream
Ernie was shown in his dream men who wore black robes that were trying to make them white. It didn't matter how hard they tried, they could not get them white enough. This indicates they were trying to manufacture their own righteousness, for the Bible says "...he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness." Isaiah 61:10. "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." Revelation 19:8. Ellen White also writes:
"Only the covering which Christ Himself has provided can make us meet to appear in God's presence. This covering, the robe of His own righteousness, Christ will put upon every repenting, believing soul. "I counsel thee," He says, "to buy of Me . . . white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear." Revelation 3:18." Christ Object Lessons, p. 311.3
"He desires us to seek for a pure, clean soul, a soul washed and made white in the blood of the Lamb. It is the white robe of Christ's righteousness that gives the sinner admittance into the presence of the heavenly angels. Not the color of his hair, but his perfect obedience to all God's commandments, opens to him the gates of the Holy City (Letter 207, 1899)." S.D.A Bible Commentary, Vol. 7, p. 920.4
Here you will notice that Christ's righteousness not only justifies us, but it also sanctifies. The men in Ernie's dreams did not possess Christ's righteousness and, like the Pharisees, they are trying to get to heaven by their own righteousness.
The men Ernie saw were obviously Seventh-day Adventists because they put a large number seven on the front of their filthy robes. Not only were they Seventh-day Adventists, but they are prominent leaders, for many people worship them and say, "Teach us, oh enlightened ones, for we listen and you will tell us what we are to do." This accurately describes the attitude of many people in the church. As it was in the days of Jesus, so today most Seventh-day Adventists blindly follow the leaders and do not realize that they themselves do not know the way of salvation.
Since the men in filthy robes represent the leaders of the church, the giant peach in Ernie's dream must represent the General Conference Session in which they derive their authority. This is supported by the fact that the 59th General Conference Session is associated with a peach. The fact that the peach is described as being a giant peach shows just how much authority it has over people in the church.
Next in Ernie's dream, he sees a rock come down and smash the giant peach. This is the same kind of language we read of in Daniel 2 when Nebuchadnezzar saw a rock that was cut out of a mountain without hands and smashed the image to pieces. See Daniel 2:45. Ellen White says this represents the destruction of earthly kingdoms:
"Daniel, speaking of the destruction of earthly kingdoms, says: 'In the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold: the great God hath made known . . . what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.' " Pamphlets, p. 150 7.2
We can conclude then that the rock which smashes the giant peach would bring destruction upon the General Conference Session at Atlanta. Following the destruction, Ernie sees "many small pieces of burning coal fall from the air and burn up the area where the peach was." The giant peach and all the men and their followers are no longer seen.
A burning coal has two meanings. The first, which obviously fits the context of Ernie's dream, is one of destruction. David wrote in Psalm 140:10, "Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again." The second meaning of a burning coal is described by Isaiah.
"Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged." Isaiah 6:6-7
A live coal is one that is burning. In Isaiah's vision, the live coal did a work of purification. This is why Ellen White wrote, "The live coal is symbolical of purification. If it touches the lips, no impure word will fall from them." Conflict and Courage, p. 234.5. She also wrote:
"We who preach the truth to others must have the love of Jesus burning in our own souls. Our lips must be touched with a live coal from off the altar. Then they will be cleansed, naught but sanctified words that will melt and subdue the soul will pass from them. — Letter 102, 1897." Testimonies to Southern Africa, p. 74.3
Although Ernie's dream points out the General Conference will be destroyed at Atlanta if God allows it to happen, it also reveals that if this happens, where once there was a corrupt leadership, God will have a people who are pure to lead His people.
Atlanta will be destroyed
Ernie's dream says the giant peach may be destroyed. This we identified as the General Conference Session. We cannot be completely sure if it will be destroyed literally, such as by a natural disaster like a fireball from heaven etc. or whether the dream was intended to be understood spiritually—or both. However, we do know that other people have been warned of Atlanta's destruction.
On May 23, 2008, a video was posted on the internet of Mike & Cheryl Bernard, who share their testimony of how God warned them that Atlanta would be destroyed and that they should move away. You can find the video here.
On June 28, 2008, a young man by the name of Andrew experienced a miracle. His heart stopped for about ten minutes until he was resuscitated by paramedics. Even to this day doctors don't know why he had cardiac arrest. After being in a coma for five days, he is now fully recovered with no brain damage. Not long after this event he had a dream in which he saw that Atlanta would be destroyed. His mother describes what he saw...
"Time is running out, History is closing."
To my puzzled face, he replied: "Mom, I saw Jesus!
He said we need to be ready, He's coming back very soon, Soon, sooner than we expect."
I asked if He said anything else and Andrew replied that he was told that Atlanta will be destroyed and he saw like a movie or the news that Atlanta was in ruins. He was told that we need to leave and go to the mountains, but that each one has to pray and God will show individually when and where to go. Andrew repeated this dream to some of our friends when they came to see us in the morning that Sunday."
You can read more about the dream here.
Atlanta was flooded in September 2009 and a number of people lost their lives, but certainly this did not destroy the city. Both of these predictions must still be future. Will it be in June or July when the 59th General Conference Session meets?
If God does bring destruction to Atlanta, and more specifically to the General Conference Session, this will have very serious ramifications on the church. If the destruction occurs, and with the events that took place in the days of Elijah after all the prophets of Baal had been destroyed, it would show us that we do not have long before Jesus returns. If the destruction occurs, Seventh-day Adventists may even be blamed for it. Now is the time we need to be searching the Word of God and the Spirit of Prophecy to find out how we are to live our lives.
God has chosen not to show us for certain if it will happen because He wants each of us to pray about it. We should pray not only for our leaders to repent but for ourselves individually as well.
It is our prayer that those who have planned to attend or are thinking of attending the General Conference Session will seek God's direction. "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
